The curriculum vitae of my Friend S
It’s been about five years since we graduated. We’re slightly older, a little more fatigued, but a little richer too….
Today, our Friend S is embarking on a long journey. Not only will his flight take 20 hours or more, but he’d be based in the US for two years, and may eventually continue to live there. I’ve taken the liberty of writing him a curriculum vitae (because I’m certain he will make his mark in this world and this post will go viral some years later : )).
Curriculum vitae of Friend S
If there were two words to describe Friend S, I’d say that he is a “good friend”. If you had a problem and needed help, Friend S would do his utmost to help you.
Friend S was one of my relationship counsellors during my formative years. In particular, I recall him bestowing a gift on my birthday, a book entitled “He’s just not that into you – the no-excuses truth to understanding guys.” I still have that book though I must admit that I wasn’t as disciplined in applying those principles ; )
Not too long ago, when we used to flop around NTU in our T-shirts and slippers, I recalled being the “liability” in one of the finance project work groups which Friend S was in. But I remembered him to be supportive. When we graduated, Friend S was always there to share with us career advice and a list of available jobs to apply for.
Friend S is and has always been a straight talker. He will give you his real, genuine view of things, and it can be superbly politically incorrect. That has led to many laughs, which echoed round the large NTU campus, from which we used to spend a great deal of time at.
Of late, he has wowed us with his cooking, knowledge of fragrances and Pokemon Go.
The journey to success can be tough, but Friend S is a fighter and doesn’t give up. As a marathoner, Friend S is very fit and boasts a slim waist line (that many ladies would clamour for).
The farewell meal we had together was a Korean BBQ and a free cake from Antoinette, which was obtained by Friend S himself, courtesy of Citibank.

Goodbye Friend S, we wish you well.
Two years is a short time for a friendship which spans decades. Take care.
P.S) If you’re wondering why I chose Scyther to be the profile pic.. Well, that was the most competent Pokemon I had caught so far, that starts with S.
